This program was developed specifically for preschool age children ages 3 through 6. It is designed to improve children's motor skills and enhance their ability to pay attention and follow directions. It teaches essential qualities such as courtesy, respect, and discipline. It also teaches fitness, self-defense and self-confidence. Children learn what their safety circle is, stranger danger and what to do when being bullied. Classes are fun and enthusiastic. Gymnastics Classes by Glenda's Dance:
This class is offered to preschool aged children 2 1/2 and up. Your child will learn to do cartwheels, handstands, bridges, tumbling and many other fun skills.
What are the many benefits of participating in gymnastics?
It builds positive self-esteem in a child and helps them feel good as they achieve their goals. Gymnastics provides a way to exert energy and build physical fitness to last through adulthood. It is also said that children who have participated in movement education activities have longer attention spans, increased communication skills and general problem solving skills.
Gymnastics challenges a child and helps them believe in themselves. Once a child learns a skill and accomplishes a goal, he develops confidence in himself. Positive self-worth gained through sports can carry over into other aspects of life. Children will build on these lessons and life skills as they mature.
